Teevy has no account, no ads and no analytics. This page explains exactly what the app processes, where, and what leaves your iPhone.

In short
- We receive no data about you or your TV: Teevy has no server.
- What Teevy reads on your TV and what you set up stay on your iPhone and on your TV.
- The internet is only used for three options, and only if you turn them on: the weather on the home screen, the movie and show posters, and the CTV+ download.
What the app processes
| Data | Why | Where it stays |
|---|---|---|
| Devices on your Wi-Fi (local address, advertised name) | Find your TV | On your iPhone, during the search |
| TV information (model, Android version, installed apps, home screen) | Prepare the cleanup and the undo | On your iPhone and your TV |
| Your TVs and the change log | Find your TV again, put everything back | On your iPhone, until you remove the TV or delete the app |
| Connection key | Let your TV recognise your iPhone | In the iOS keychain; only its public part is given to your TV, when you allow it |
| Your photo ("My photo" style) | Background of your TV home screen | On your iPhone and your TV |
| Language of your TV home screen (My TV › TV language) | Show the date, time, weather and captions in your language | On your iPhone and your TV |
| Weather city (if you choose one) | Show the weather on the home screen | On your iPhone and your TV; see Open-Meteo below |
| Your TV's language and country ("Movies & shows" style only) | Pick posters in your language and from your country's releases | Sent to our server teevy.app for the request only, nothing is kept; see below |
| Emails you send us | Reply to you (legitimate interest, GDPR art. 6.1.f) | Our mailbox, for as long as your request needs |
Finding your TV on the local network
With your permission (the iOS "Local Network" prompt), Teevy listens for TVs announcing themselves on your Wi-Fi and checks whether they accept a connection. It only connects to TVs you have allowed yourself, and none of this leaves your network.
Connection to your TV and remote
Teevy uses Android debugging, which you turn on yourself on the TV. Commands (cleanup, home screen, remote keys) only travel between your iPhone and your TV, over your Wi-Fi. You can turn debugging off at any time in the TV settings.
Your photo
You pick the photo in the iOS picker: Teevy has no access to the rest of your library. The photo is resized on your iPhone and sent only to your TV. It is never sent to us.
Weather on your TV home screen (optional)
If you choose a city, your iPhone sends the name you type to the Open-Meteo geocoding service (open-meteo.com) to find it, then gives your TV its name and coordinates. The Teevy home screen then asks Open-Meteo for the forecast with those coordinates only, at most every 30 minutes. Open-Meteo sees the IP address of the connection and states that it keeps technical logs for up to 90 days (Open-Meteo terms). We receive nothing. Without a city, the home screen connects nowhere. You can remove the weather at any time in the style settings. Weather data: Open-Meteo.com, CC BY 4.0 licence.
Movie and show posters (optional)
If you choose the "Movies & shows" style, your iPhone asks our server (teevy.app) for the current selection; our server queries The Movie Database (TMDB, themoviedb.org) with your TV's language and country only and keeps no record of these requests. Your iPhone then downloads the images from TMDB and sends them to your TV. To follow new releases, the Teevy home screen on your TV makes the same request once a day (language, country and screen size only, through our server) and downloads the new images from TMDB. As with any web page, our server and TMDB see the IP address of the connection during the request; no other data is sent. Choosing another style stops these updates. Posters and titles come from TMDB; Teevy uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
CTV+ download (optional)
If you choose to install CTV+ on your TV, Teevy downloads its file from ctvplus.app. As with any web page, the server sees the IP address of the connection in its technical logs; no other data is sent.
Recipients
None. We do not sell, rent or share any data. Only the services named above see the IP address of the connection, and only if you use the related option.
Ads and tracking
No ads, no ad tracking, no analytics in the app or on the TV home screen.
Deleting your data
In Teevy: My TVs › your TV › "Forget this TV". Deleting the app erases everything it keeps on the iPhone. On the TV: "Put everything back" removes the Teevy home screen and its settings, then you can turn debugging off.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or port your data, object to its processing and withdraw your consent at any time by writing to contact@agence-buzzle.com. You can also contact your data protection authority, such as the CNIL (France) or the ICO (United Kingdom).
Children
Teevy collects no personal data and is suitable for all ages. Younger users should ask a parent before changing the family TV.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and the app tells you when a change concerns you.
