Which TVs does Teevy work with?
TVs and boxes running Android TV or Google TV (for example TCL, Sony, Philips, Hisense, Xiaomi, Chromecast with Google TV), on the same Wi-Fi as your iPhone. Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) TVs do not run Android: Teevy cannot change them.
Why do I need to turn on debugging?
It is the official Android feature that lets another device set up the TV. Teevy shows you the exact menus of your model: Settings › System › About, press "Build" 7 times, then Developer options › USB debugging. You can turn it off whenever you want.
My TV isn’t on the list
Make sure the TV is really on (not in standby) and your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi. If iOS asked for local network access, allow it (iOS Settings › Teevy › Local Network). In residences or hotels, the Wi-Fi sometimes blocks devices from seeing each other: use your iPhone's Personal Hotspot, Teevy guides you. You can also type the TV address with "My TV is not in the list".
Is it risky for my TV?
No. Teevy deletes nothing: apps are only paused. A restore point is created before every change, and "Put everything back" (My TVs › your TV) undoes it all in one tap.
After a TV update
An update can switch some apps or the old home screen back on. Open Teevy, choose your TV and tap "Check after an update": Teevy switches off whatever came back and restores the home screen.
Change the language of the TV home screen
My TV › TV language. By default, the TV uses the app language (Settings › Language, 28 languages). You can pick another language for the TV, for example your iPhone in English and your TV in French: the date, time, weather and captions follow.
Use your iPhone as a remote
Tap the Remote button at the bottom of the screen: arrows and OK, back, home, volume, channels, mute, play or pause and standby. Your iPhone and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi, with debugging turned on.
How do I remove Teevy from my TV?
My TVs › your TV › "Put everything back". The original home screen returns and the apps are switched back on. You can then turn debugging off in the TV settings.
